People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  People are the supreme object of God's creation.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by and an attitude of disobedience towards God called "sin."  This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Genesis 1:27

 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
         The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
 What is man that You are mindful of him,
         And the son of man that You visit him?
 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
         And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

All we like sheep have gone astray;
      We have turned, every one, to his own way;
